COMPREHENSIVE REGIONALIZATION OF LAND UTILIZATION IN LIAONING PROVINCE

According to the land utilization status, adaptability, direction, similarity and variance, this paper, aiming at the sustainable development of the economy and society in Liaoning province, carries out a cluster analysis among 23 indexes in four types which can reflect the society, economy, land and environment, and regionalizes the land utilization in Liaoning province. Four regions are classified, forest-stock farming ecological development area, east Liaoning peninsular economic development area, central urban comprehensive development area, and west Liaoning eco-environmental protection area. This paper presents the utilization direction for these four types of areas, providing a reference for the sustainable development of economy and society in Liaoning province.

This paper applies ten economical, social and environmental indexes which influence urban land intensive utilization to evaluate the land intensive utilization among 14 cities in Liaoning province, indicating a big variance that the urban intensive utilization index is high in developed areas, but low in western and eastern Liaoning. The correlation ratio between urban land intensive utilization and pre capital GDP is 0619, which means an obvious correlation between the both.

This paper makes a case study of Xinghua city, determines land utilization division indexes in location and function based on macroscopic land utilization, agricultural lands, construction lands, and unutilized lands, applies cluster analysis to divide 34 towns within Xinghua city into 4 divisions: western ecological maintenance zone, urban core functional zone, southern key construction zone and central modern agricultural zone, which can provide a reference for the sustainable growth of lands and harmonious social and economic development in Xinghua city.
